5-Amino-1MQ

Weight LossSingle
Also known as: 5-Amino-1-methylquinolinium

A small molecule (technically not a peptide) studied as an NNMT inhibitor for metabolic and adipose-tissue applications.

Half-life

Administration
Oral, Subcutaneous

How it works

5-Amino-1MQ inhibits nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT), an enzyme overexpressed in adipose tissue of obese individuals. Inhibition preserves NAD+ levels and SAM availability, supporting metabolic flexibility.

Protocol notes

Most commonly oral at 50–150 mg daily. Injectable forms also exist. Cycles of 8–12 weeks.

Reported side effects

Limited human safety data. Reported tolerability is generally good; possible GI upset.
