How it works

Ara-290 binds the innate repair receptor (a heteromer of EPOR and CD131), activating tissue-protective pathways without the erythropoietic (red-cell-raising) effects of EPO. Anti-inflammatory and neurotrophic effects have been described.

Protocol notes

Clinical trial protocols have used 2–8 mg subcutaneously daily for 4–28 days. Research dosing varies.

Reported side effects

Generally well-tolerated. Rare injection-site reactions.
