HMG

Sexual HealthSingle
Also known as: Human Menopausal Gonadotropin, Menotropin

A mixture of LH and FSH used clinically for fertility, particularly in ovarian stimulation and spermatogenesis support.

Half-life
30 h
Common dose
75 – 150 IU
Dosing frequency
Every Other Day
Administration
Subcutaneous, Intramuscular

How it works

HMG provides both FSH (driving Sertoli cells/follicle development) and LH (driving Leydig/theca cell hormone production), supporting full gonadal function — useful when HCG alone is insufficient.

Protocol notes

Fertility protocols typically use 75 IU subcutaneously every other day for several weeks, with HCG. Costly relative to HCG monotherapy.

Reported side effects

Injection-site reactions, ovarian hyperstimulation risk in women, estrogenic effects in men.
