How it works

PT-141 activates central melanocortin receptors (primarily MC4R) in the brain, increasing sexual arousal through neural rather than vascular pathways — distinct from PDE5 inhibitors like sildenafil.

Protocol notes

Clinical dosing is 1.75 mg subcutaneously 45 minutes before sexual activity, max 8 doses per month. Research protocols vary 1–2 mg as-needed. Intranasal forms exist but absorb less consistently.

Reported side effects

Nausea (very common), flushing, headache, transient blood-pressure elevation, dark spots on skin with chronic use.
