Semaglutide
Weight LossSingleAlso known as: Ozempic, Wegovy, Rybelsus
A GLP-1 receptor agonist widely studied in metabolic and weight research.
Half-life
168 h
Common dose
35 – 140 mcg
Dosing frequency
Daily
Administration
Subcutaneous
How it works
Semaglutide binds the GLP-1 receptor, slowing gastric emptying, increasing satiety, and improving insulin sensitivity. Clinical trials show 10–15% body-weight loss at therapeutic doses.
Protocol notes
Standard titration: 0.25 mg weekly for 4 weeks, then 0.5 mg, then 1.0 mg, up to 2.4 mg weekly for weight management. Slow titration reduces GI side effects. Long-term use.
Reported side effects
Nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, fatigue, gallbladder issues, and rare pancreatitis. GI effects typically improve with continued use.
Additional research notes
GLP-1 agonist. Typically titrated by protocol, not weight. Start low.
